PROVISIONARY AND REGULATORY SUPPORT FOR URBAN HOMELESS

The portfolio is a reflection of Housing Studio work that aims to effectively address the issue of housing unaffordability in Rajkot by developing a variety of housing sub-strategies that distribute housing options across all income groups. We were introduced to various exercises for Situation Assessments through primary analysis in order to understand the housing scenario in Rajkot. This analysis concentrated on comprehending the baseline situation in Surat in order to develop individual sub-strategies in a comprehensive manner. This served as the foundation for projecting and imagining various growth scenarios in the year 2031, which assisted us in developing a set of enabling and provisional sub-strategies. The portfolio also focuses on the P4 sub-strategy as a "Provisional and Regulatory Support for Urban Homeless" to provide adequate, accessible, and decent shelters for Urban Homeless and Construction Workers (migrants) through long and short-term interventions, as well as reforming the existing framework supporting them.
