UR2019

Isolated Privacy

The project initially investigates privacy and territoriality in a nuclear family environment.
The idea taken forward to design is to give each one’s own space and privacy while still keeping that space affordable and allowing for vibrant communal spaces. This idea is applied to the proposal of a neighbourhood that provides housing for young working individuals in the area of the CBD of Navi Mumbai. While still maintaining modest unit sizes, the projects attempts to create a vibrant residential affordable housing, using layering and creating hierarchy of internal spaces, external spaces and roads networks.
