Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Many research visits dedicated to exploring the role of temple and religion in the lives of people in Ambli Gam concluded in my understanding of strong potential of temple users in binding the village together and preserving its historical identity to prevent it from falling into decay. Pursuing the aim of being a leading model in strengthening inter-community relations in Ambli Gam, the project proposes the design of a religious and cultural center to facilitate healthy social interactions between the communities, as a means of anchoring their attachments. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, translates into oneness and harmony. My proposal for this center tries to enhance visual and physical access of the space. The design follows existing building typology in Ambli Gam, i.e. being modern as well as respecting the traditional ways. The facade aims at transforming the Bhagor into a highly interactive and active chowk, with uniform vibrant influence.
