TRANSFORMATION OF RAMAKDA MARKET IN DANAPITH PRECINCT

Walled City is one of the prime economy generators in Ahmedabad owing to the presence of prominent monuments and several city-level markets. One such market is the Ramakda Market, located between the modern development and the historic core. The identity of this market block is deteriorating due to defunct/dilapidating structures, haphazard commercialisation that over-shadows the heritage assets and lack of new development opportunities. As a part of Danapith LAP, this Area-Based-Development aims to revive this market block by restructuring its urban form to increase its commercial/economic potential and enhance the experience of the public realm for all its end-users.
