Public Spaces: Access and Belonging

Analysing the networks into play and that control access and influence for on public space, this project put the needs of vendors and pedestrians in focus. The aim is to increase earning opportunities for vendors by improving the public space to make it more accessible and inclusive. The infrastructure for vendors makes use of simple elements to generate a sense of belonging by letting vendors create their own territories while making sure that all of them are able to access basic infrastructures. Using minimum structure as a strategy, the space tries to soften the power dynamics that increase vulnerability.
