Institutional Residence Project

The Construction Project Execution, Monitoring, and Control studio of Spring Semester II of Master’s in Construction Engineering and Management focus on the execution phase where the live project’s construction processes were examined. The study of the Staff & Faculty Housing in Ahmedabad comprised of site visits, collecting data, analyzing it, and making recommendations for improvements in the areas of safety, quality, legal compliance, cost management, contract management, and inventory management. To simplify the process flow and decrease waste in the project, lean principles like Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, 5S, and Foreman Delay Survey were implemented. The use of building information modeling (BIM) and Primavera P6 to track weekly progress was encouraged.
