Walking Walkway : Deployable Walkway

A deployable structure is a structure that can change its shape, to significantly change its size. This studio helped us to solve structural problems. In the midsemester, I  did a case study on  Qizhong Stadium situated in China where I studied the mechanism of the deployable roof structure and made a scaled automatized working model of it. The final design which is created is a walkway which deploys using a ten-fold scissor mechanism which deploys up to 3 times to its undeployed stage and also creates a hyperbolic shaped roof which protects users from harsh sunlight and rain. AnimationExtended Portfolio
