Development of Web Application for automated derivation and comparative study of Land Surface Temperature (LST).

Urban Heat Island (UHI) is currently the biggest challenge that humans face in the twenty-first century because of human civilization's urbanization and industrialization. The key causes of UHI are the large amounts of heat generated by urban elements as they absorb and radiate solar radiation, as well as human-caused heat sources. The problem is even worse in major cities or metropolises with substantial economic activities.
LST is a very important data product of various satellite imagery which can be useful for such application and research. Deriving LST step by step can be a tedious process and may utilize time. The purpose of this study is to derive/process LST from satellite dataset using Open source GIS technology on a web based platform.
It will also provide a Web GIS based platform to generate , visualize , analyze and compare several datasets.
