Integrating GIS in mainstream CGD process leads to improved analysis, visualization, network planning and in informed decisions. This project discusses the relevance of GIS in CGD and describes how GIS technology can be used in CGD network planning process.
This project focuses on mapping and visualizing the assets for gas distribution and analyzing the various parameters for CGD such as identifying the idle consumers etc. The study will focus on developing a GIS based CGD portal which will aid in providing decision support system on parameters such as potential areas for expansion of gas network, tracing out the network after the leakage etc.
