This studio started with understanding the smart cities for both international and national scenarios. After understanding project theme 'Tourism' is decided followed by formulation of aim and objectives. The main goal of this project is to develop a tourism information system, "Gandhinagar Tourism Web App".

This slide includes understanding of smart cities and their work flow. After that aim & objectives are defined followed by Gandhinagar's major tourist attractions according to Gujrat tourism site.

Now, all the spatial data required for this study is divided into four categories of historical/cultural attractions, natural attractions, tourist services/facilities and other. After that a perfect methodology is designed to achieve the goal.

The criteria for selecting tourist attractions and services is studied based on 'Problem and Prospects of Accessible Tourism in India (2010) ' study commissioned by Ministry of tourism. Tools like Network analysis, route and service area analysis are used in this and to develop a web app ESRI's ArcGIS Online is used.

Tourist attraction and tourist services maps. A total of 56 tourist attraction are identified for GMC (Major and Local).

Best route map with shortest distance to travel or all places of worship separately and combined is identified using route analysis.

For best route maps of all religious places and major tourist attraction service availability and accessibility is studied.

Three entry location are selected to enter in Gandhinagar GMC and from all three, 3 different best routes are identified. After that route covering all the market areas and shopping center is identified.

The working of direction widget is explained with result folloed by conclusion and link for understanding the work flow of the app.
