MEPF: Services, Design and Coordination

The course will impart basic knowledge of the services viz. Mechanical - Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection & Building Automation Services, that are essential & / or mandatory for effective performance of a building / facility.
Students will learn engineering terminologies and principles of designs, broad classification of systems, design basis, load calculations, capacity determination for the above-mentioned services. Standard engineering practices will be illustrated. Statutory regulations shall be brought to the knowledge. There is a sincere attempt to keep the course live and interesting by practical teaching methods, tutorials, site visits and close interactions with students by Faculty, Industry Experts, and Teaching Assistants. Students shall have better concept of sizes, layouts, space requirements and shall be in a position to visualize a building or a facility in totality.
At the end of the course, students will have a clearer view of services to be incorporated in a given project and their implications in terms of form, function, aesthetics, and space.
