Low-rise Apartment Scheme, Gandhinagar

After completing this studio, I have learnt a great deal about plumbing, by doing the exercises of this course. The first exercise helped me to observe different systems present in my house, while helping me to understand the basics of plumbing. The second exercise helped me to understand many topics in depth, that are relevant to plumbing. In the third exercise we were given different projects on which we worked and designed the entire plumbing services just by studying the architectural drawings. It was the main assignment and we prepared 3d models in Revit depicting architectural and plumbing design for the project.  The Revit models that were made helped us visualize, how the actual plumbing would look like.

Studying the Plumbing System of my Own House and Calculating the Water Consumption based on Different Methodologies.

Ancient plumbing of Kankaria lake was studied along with rainwater harvesting.

This slide explains the site description of the assigned project. The population count was done keeping in mind the number of apartments, similarly the water demand was calculated.

The water flow diagram alongside with rainwater calculation is shown. The fresh water reduction was then estimated. The capacities of Tank is also shown.

In this slide the horizontal water supply is represented in 2D CAD files and 3D Revit views.

The schematic drawing is shown in this slide along with the pump capacities which are used to carry the water from underground tanks to overhead tanks.

In this slide the drainage pipes are indicated along with the fittings used. Revit software is used to display 3D views.

This slide has the manhole layout with suspended pipes in the basement. Apart from this the pressurized and gravitational zones are shown. Also the cost of the project is estimated.

Architectural and plumbing model is represented with isometric and sectional view of one toilet unit.

Water ATM was designed and implemented as a working model.
