Curated Spaces: Inserting of a Museum space at Basilica of Bom Jesus, Goa

The museum spaces have emerged as global spaces curated towards narratives of displays-to be experienced physically and also virtually. The changing trends in curatorship is demanding an Architectural form as an envelope and rendering of Interior Design services, while consciously exploring diverse approaches from standardization.
Taking a departure from the role of Interior Design industry as an afterthought, the project is proposed as inserting of a museum space in the Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa, as curated interior space for permanent and temporary display. Basilica is a state and national level Monument housing the relics of St. Francis Xavier and an important marker for the local and global pilgrims and tourists. In Old Goa, it sits amidst the rich local history of Art and architecture. Along with the archival history, the design proposal will also aim to conceive a global space as contemporary and digital museum.
