The Voyage from then to now

The strategic location of the Floating drydock in front of the gateway of India and the Royal Bombay Yacht club creates a nodal focus for the project. The drydock sinks and floats as required suggesting an amphibious occupation of its deck. The Louise Catherine roofed to be made creates this unique opportunity to engage a tectonic that evokes curiosity. Such urban arrangements of appropriation and retrofit are used as a guiding principle to SCAFFOLD the idea of roofing and movement ‘within’ and ‘with’ the barge.
