CENTRE FOR REPOSE

The design for therapy rooms for Mud therapy and Shirodhara at LD campus came out of the idea of darkness as it becomes the medium for body to be at repose. The light entering the project becomes the theatrics to engage the user and support the program because of darkness. the idea of walls continuing and the horizontal plane stops comes as a antithesis response to existing. The rammed earth walls in North-South direction becomes the mediator between spaces and also provides a sense of flow, continuity and time. The underground spaces are enclosed in thick Idar stone wall which further accentuates the idea of dark space and stillness.
