Urban climate action plans for mitigation, adaptation and resilience
We are fast heading towards unprecedented climate crisis. Cities around the world are actively creating their urban climate action plans to deal with the climate crisis. Their motivation, content and actions are shaped by various environmental, political, economic and social considerations. The urban climate action plans vary in terms of their scope, ambition, thematic focus and implementation strategy.
This DRP explores the urban climate action plans for Indian cities. The project will look at climate action plans in the Indian context with each student focusing on a specific thematic area. Regular group deliberations among students will help create a comprehensive perspective. The learning will be applied to prepare an outline of urban climate action plan for the city of Ahmedabad. The project will heavily rely on literature reviews, stakeholder consultations, discussions with subject matter experts and group discussions
