Accessibility & Walkability issues of Ahmedabad Road Infrastructure

The main aim of this research project is to attempt to examine the walkability and accessibility of Ahmedabad city by different user-groups irrespective of their gender, age and disability, to outline the issues, challenges and scope for improvement of the existing road infrastructure of the city by sharing the research data with different stake holders, service providers and road owning agencies to implement and monitor, required designs standards to make walkability safe, dignified and comfortable for “all” pedestrians and public transport users. It is through this kind of collaborative working and planning that we will be better placed to meet the challenges that lie ahead in a positive way that will improve the lives of our citizens in the future.
