Shifting Landscapes

The site serves as a threshold to the forest, marking itself as an ecotone between the river and the forest. Ecotones mark the boundaries where different ecosystems merge, facilitating a transition from one type to another but also bridging the interdependency between the two. At the same time, these transition zones serve as limiting factors, restricting the expansion of certain species that may not thrive in the changed conditions. These thresholds themselves are crucial links in the macro system. The project aims to enhance the systemic role of scrubland by facilitating certain existing network resources and showcasing the variables in the landscape setting that offer these.
