Desert's Embrace : A Residence that Integrates the Oasis

Designing a climatically responding residence in Jodhpur, India, considering the environmental sustainability as major challenge. The programme is to design a residence for a family of six, where the husband and wife are writers , the elder sibling is fourteen years old and the younger sibling is eleven years old. The family wishes for a house that have passive cooling techniques integrated in the building. The goal was to integrate the natural elements with the built-form to enhance passive cooling. The key strategies used are: Projecting of masses, layering of spaces and evaporative cooling.
