Pravah

A residence to one of the greatest Maratha rulers, stands with its grandeur, highly influenced from the Victorian style, at the bank of river Saraswati, which is curtained on both its edges by thick vegetation. Other parts farther from the river also have thick forest covers, age old huge trees, maidans, formal gardens and a step-well. With time, people of the city have taken over the space as their own and have started using it in their own ways. All these existing elements at site remain in perfect sync with the humans and their activities. Its a perfect balance between the past and the present, and that’s what is the living system of the project. The very existence of everything.
Pravah will be an attempt to establish another layer of organization through the introduction of an appropriate program and enhance engagement of people with both tamed and untamed landscapes through very structured planting variations and combinations.
