Swings Of The Earth

The studio began with learning and inspiring from Bachelard's 'Poetics of Space' as we explored different hand rendering mediums to understand the nuances of our personal spaces. Knowledge from animal architecture added a layer of narration and conceptual development to the final project. 'Swings Of Earth' inspired by the trapdoor spider is a dwelling for 5, built from webs, posing various uses. The dwelling establishes a strong connection with the context as well as engages with the dwellers. In the arid region of Australia, this dwelling provides them the comfort of home.
