Spin and Sleep Dormitory

"Spin and Sleep Dormitory" is an adaptive reuse project involving transforming a 450-year-old St. Thomas Church in Diu. It is 650 meters from Jalandhar Beach in a densely populated residential area in western Diu. The project endeavors to introduce informality within a formal interior space by juxtaposing newly built structures with pre-existing ones, thereby emphasizing voids within the space. Preserving the church's essence, the restoration contrasts with lighter new builds, interlinked for spatial diversity. Catering to a younger demographic, the dormitory offers shared living and facilities like a liquor store and pool. The hostel features a cocktail bar, an all-day dining restaurant, a cafe, an ice cream bar, and a tea stall, thus catering to a wide range of dining experiences.
