Framework and Design of Ecologically Enhanced Public Space
Planning and design of public spaces in India has finally gotten momentum. Hence, role of design in creating high quality and accessible public places is increasingly recognized. On the other hand, cities of world are facing many climatic challenges as a consequence of centuries of disregarding the natural ecosystems (including urban water). With increase of footprint for public spaces in Indian cities, can these spaces play an effective role in making cities more resilient? How can public spaces contribute to the urban ecosystem while being social spaces?
