The precinct is located in the far East zone of Ahmedabad and the greater area comes in the region of Vastral Ramol and the rest of it is part of Odhav region. While the majority of the district is residential, this precinct has evolved over time to become an industry-dominated neighborhood. The main determinants due to which the precinct developed include relocation of industries, displacement of low-income groups during riverfront development, and inter and intra-state migration of people. This ‘industrial-driven’ precinct of Vastral Ramol, has increased employment for the lower and middle income groups, thus contributing to the economic growth of the area.
