SEAMLESS ADAPTATION

Ahmedabad, known for rich heritage and industrial legacy, shows a dynamic evolution in the Bag-E-Firdosh precinct. The precinct has undergone transformational phrases from the 15th century till present. Industrialization leads to migration and challenges, with economic growth and housing adaptation. Fission of large industries and settlement around them created a distinctive character of grain pattern when seen from aerial image. Despite road connectivity challenges and walkability issues, the residents repurposed the local street creatively. Residential adaptation in between industries resulted in a dominance in Semi-detached with an unplanned settlement.
