NAINA: An Emerging AeroTransPolis near Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) has been declared as a special planning area under CIDCO in order to devise the development due to growth pressures as the result of the airport and proximity to major economic and connectivity networks. CIDCOs past planning efforts were solely based on land acquisition model, but after the introduction of LARR Act, it became expensive for the authority. Hence, TP scheme mechanism becomes the most feasible development model. The TP scheme proposal focused on an equitable, robust and sustainable approach by analyzing the true potential of the area to develop into an AeroTransPolis.
