Progressive Urbanization of Malav Talab

Malav Talab lies in the western part of the city, it was marked to be a residential zone to meet the increasing urban expansion resulting in increase in demand for people. The central part of the precinct is a part of the Green belt program by AUDA but it has been transforming to residential zone slowly to meet the growing demands of the residents. The portfolio aims to understand the developments in the urban areas of Vasna and Vejalpur in the past two decades by studying and analyzing the area and the determinants. Furthermore, assessment on how the street hierarchies relate to key factors, equity considerations for diverse user groups within the precinct. Addition to this, the precinct features a diverse blend of land use and built form which makes it a desirable urban space.
