In this portfolio, the neighborhood of Shastrinagar is studied. Shastrinagar, a compact residential neighborhood in Ahmedabad's northwest, is bounded by the Gaurav Path and the 132-feet ring road. Over the past fifty years, the peaceful town of Shastrinagar in Ahmedabad's outskirts has witnessed a spectacular metamorphosis, becoming a thriving residential and business neighborhood. This transformation is a result of smart urban planning, a coalition of public programs, well-timed private funding, and careful design principles. In Shastrinagar Housing typology and scale have evolved significantly over time, reflecting changes in societal needs, government policies, and individual preferences.
