The portfolio aims to document the area of Khodiyar Nagar situated to the east of the Sabarmati river, in the city of Ahmedabad. The area, through a series of transformations and developments has evolved from farmlands to highly dense compact precinct in the present day. It is now considered as one of the hustling commercial hubs of the city brewing with opportunities. The study aims to capture the on ground conditions, history and evolution, built form and open spaces, street networks, infrastructure and the opportunities of housing and jobs. From this study, we get a better understanding of the industrial areas of Ahmedabad, their development with time overlapping with built form, services, and the prominent social dynamics of the area.
