This Monsoon Semester, Passive Comfort lab imparted a foundational grasp of Building Physics and heat transfer within the building envelope. The semester comprised three segments: Concepts, Experimentation, and Simulation, covering passive design strategies, their impact on energy usage, and occupant thermal comfort. Key concepts included Climate, sun shading, heat transfer, psychrometry, load calculations, and data procurement. The second module involved group experiments applying heat transfer principles, while the third, cantered on simulations using Design Builder software, explained the building envelope and its components. This provided insights into the influence of the building envelope on thermal loads in a building.
