Passive comfort lab | Monsoon semester |

The Passive Comfort Lab strives to comprehend diverse aspects of building design through three key modules: Concepts, Measurements & experimentation, & Simulations. In the Concepts module, we delve into factors influencing weather, leveraging them for passive cooling, utilizing solar geometry for overhang design, understanding heat transfer modes in building contexts, and exploring psychometry charts. The Measurements & Experimentation module focuses on instrument usage, its specifications, and limitations. Here, we measure parameters such as temperature gradients in different wall materials, correlating them with conceptual knowledge. In the Simulation module, we employ design builder simulations to analyze how these concepts function in real building scenarios, impacting the building envelope and air conditioning loads.
