PASSIVE COMFORT LAB PORTFOLIO

Passive comfort lab focuses on concepts regarding heat transfer in building envelope  and thus, envelope optimization to reduce thermal loads of a building. It covers topics pertaining to building physics and heat transfer principles with analytical approach towards design decisions regarding building envelope optimization. The studio course project aims at practical application of heat transfer principles in a building through design decisions regarding form and materials. Also as a part of this studio,  building simulations are carried out using software such as Design Builder to understand the energy interactions of a building with its surroundings for energy efficient envelope design.
