Maimollem - Transforming broken remnants

The premise of the project is Maimollem lake, located in Mormugao taluka of South Goa. Currently, in a degraded condition, the water body was previously of great social, cultural and economic value to the community. However, due to fading associations with the lake, this region has witnessed a partial erasure of the commoning practices. The project looks at understanding the transition from past commoning to a scenario, where the commons has lost its purpose. The intent is to re-assess the commons keeping in perpective the current communities and their aspirations. What Maimollem can become for the people of Mormugao has been explored through the strategies and interventions.
