Breathing Spaces | Community Mass Housing at Vastrapur

While there is evident congestion in the residential built environment, most of the community housing continues to extend towards inward-looking isolated residential units, with very less or no breathing spaces, impacting human health and the environment. Adequately ventilated indoor spaces, their extension towards private open spaces, and providing various scales of shared outdoor spaces become an imperative part of community living. With this understanding, the project aims to study and explore various types and scales of 'residential open spaces' that allow the residents to come out and share, creating a better and healthier living environment for the community.
