Scales- A Music Centre

The music centre is an expression of the creative spirit, with spaces designed to inspire and facilitate musical exploration. It features recording studios, rehearsal spaces with customizable acoustics, a performance hall, a resource centre, a teaching space and communal areas for artistic exchange and reflection.
The form has been explored through qualities observed on an object's scale and further reimagined at an architectural scale to achieve the final project.

The set design aims to depict the workspace of an aging, struggling writer who's work has taken over all parts of their life to a point where their need for a tidy physical space is not a priority.

The key ideas observed from the object was the core around which everything functions, the key-pin which makes it stable and the visual noise created by its surface.

Core- explored in opposition to the object as a large overbearing entity. Visual Noise - surface texture Key - holding all the volumetric additions in place
