MOL - A MARKETPLACE IN MANDU

The task at hand is to design a marketplace to accommodate the street vendors of the Jami market in Mandu.  Requirements include:-Space being used from early morning to early evening.-Vendor spaces being temporary, flexible yet customizable to the vendor's whim.-Designated space being allotted to at least 10 vendors.-Designed context/site for Saturday market to occur around the weekday market.-A span of at least 7 meters.-Mezzanine space provided for each vendor for storage/ interaction/ transaction based activity.Keeping these requirements in mind, the design seeks to tackle issues of circulation, proportion, architectural language, structure for roof and mezzanine to make an adequate localmarket.

Marketplace as a temporary, flexible yet personalized space for at least ten vendors.

Analyzing Lunuganga and Bhor Rajwada for structural and spatial aspects, to be then applied, in principle, to the marketplace.
