Water towers have been perceived as an entity of infrastructure and is often devoid of any human activity and values. Avsar is a water tower that unfolds to the user with various affordances of activities and engagements with the old and new, ground and the sky, and the inside and the outside. It is imagined as a trace of the services block that was demolished in the recent renovation. The tower is thus expressed as a skeleton, witin which house the student rooms that mimic the tower. The experience of moving up towards the sky is designed in a way that the staircase provides varying opportunities of pause and release, while constantly transitionig between the old and the new.
