The Creative Corridor

Sanskar Kendra and Tagore Hall were proposed as a part of a larger cultural complex, yet, the former eventually was disused due to a lack of ancillary functions. Thus, the context around these two structures remains  unattended. It was meant to hold a strong cultural value emphasizing Ahmedabad’s diverse cultural history. The idea is to fill the cultural void by creating a threshold that develops new connections to activate the context.
The ‘Creative Corridor’ project aims to boost cultural value by adding a third dimension of the ‘Advanced Making’ culture of Ahmedabad that redefines the city’s arts and crafts culture, aided by the proximity of NID. The proposal revolves around ideas of recycling, innovating, and collaborating, being an experimental forum for young makers, artists, and enthusiasts to transpose their ideas of this culture. Additionally, retail spaces would help neighbourhood branding.
