“Their forest of coexistence”

The objective of this research is to look at how flora and fauna migrate from their original core niche to their optimum niche as a result of environmental issues like climate change, habitat degradation, and human encroachment. The study will look into the impact of these migrations on community and the landscape system by following streams in Agasthaymalai. The study will also look at the social and economic consequences of human-animal conflict on local communities, the Kani tribes, such as agricultural losses, property damage, and possibly human fatalities. It seeks to identify areas of habitat restoration and management that may lessen the requirement for flora and fauna migration which leads to conflicts. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide a complete understanding of the ecological and social factors that influence human-animal conflict and to provide practical solutions for reducing these conflicts and promoting coexistence.
