Interior typologies: an Indian perspective

The proposed DRP will explore and expand on the work of the course Typology for Interior Design, in order to define ‘types’ in Indian dining and gathering spaces.
The research will apply the structure of the ‘intypes’ project developed by Cornell University. In this work analysis of interior images is conducted to identify prevalent strategies. These are then analysed in a historic context. The theoretical background for the DRP will include key texts on architectural typologies beginning in the 18th century with the work of Quatremere de Quincy.
