This research investigates the impact of Material Innovation on the Sustainability of Interior Architecture Practice. Design Practices have become interconnected with Sustainable Development by relying on materials to decrease production costs and generate minimal waste. Altering material properties to produce better substitutes have a ripple effect on its consumption and disposal. Material Innovation is now a tool and an indispensable part of the design process. Through a comprehensive analysis of material performance and aesthetic influences on Interior Surfaces, this study will evaluate the effectiveness of different methods of material innovation and identify the various factors influencing it in practice. It utilizes these factors to address interior architecture's sustainability concerns further. The results of this study will have significant implications for the Interior Architecture industry, offering insights into the role of material innovation in producing interior surfaces, emerging sustainable practices and the qualities of materials used in Interior Architecture.
