Branded Environments Design: Life Cycle of Retail Spaces

The retail spaces and the businesses they represent are living, thriving and constantly evolving enterprises and hence their retail spaces have to constantly adapt. This sets a very different context for the development of design strategies for retail spaces.
Product range to target audiences, the internal processes to external socio-cultural
circumstances, introduction of technology to operational changes all influence the design decisions. Hence when brands seamlessly evolve and adapt, for the retail space designers, it is important to have an in-depth understanding of the aspects that impact design decisions connected to life cycle of retail spaces. Design decisions on spatial organization and visual merchandizing strategies as well as material selection and integration of technology are some of the primary aspects that designers have to consider as these factors not only impact the behavior of the customers but also impact the brand image generated in the retail spaces.
This study will equip a designer with fundamental understanding to make informed and strategic design decisions.
