Exploration of Design - Material in Focus

The studio required students to produce drawings for design problems and consider their learnings from relevant exercises conducted during the semester tenure. The process required students to: 1. Study various determining properties of construction materials in response to the design problem. 2. Subsequently be enabled to evolve their material palette. 3. Conceptualize & Develop interior layout along with various elements of interior space (seating element, working (table) element, storage, partitions, false ceiling layout, flooring layout etc. 4. Add information to the drawings with essential dimensions, specifications, surface finishes, and updated legends. 5. Participate in and undertake studio discussions. Thus, develop an understanding of the sequential method of construction as undertaken on-site and align the production of their drawings in accordance. 6. Generate 3D models (physical/or digital). 7. Generate walkthroughs to demonstrate the design decisions form of built spaces. 8.The present final outcome as detailed working drawings (plans, sections, elevations) of their design and detailed drawings for identified elements of space.
