Integrated Transit Management System

An integrated transit management system (ITMS) is an advanced application which aims to provide innovative services relating to different modes of transport and traffic management and enable users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated, and 'smarter' use of transport networks. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation aims to enhance operational capability, citizen’s satisfaction, reliability and on-time availability of its services offered through various public transportation systems in the case city. The services thereby are aimed at enhancing the efficiency of transit systems and better management of fleet of vehicles which in-turn will instill confidence within commuters. Some of these technologies include calling for emergency services when an accident occurs, using cameras to enforce traffic laws or signs that mark speed limit changes depending on conditions. With the conception of smart city transmuting cities into digital societies, making the life of its citizens easy in every facet, Integrated Transit System becomes the indispensable component among all.
