Low-Impact Sustainable Urban Drains

Taking along the vision of 'Water sensitive Ujjain by 2035', the project is about having clean and sustainable drains and water bodies in a city like Ujjain. The majority of the drainage system is open, with no dedicated stormwater drainage system; nevertheless, due to rapid urbanisation, the quality of these drains is deteriorating day by day, and this waste water flows further into the River Kshipra, becoming one of the major reasons for its pollution. To prevent this the proposed solution is to filter the wastewater from these drains by natural means, before it goes into the Kshipra River.
