Ujjain is a religious city with a modest degree of urbanization. Despite having a smaller population and slower expansion than other cities in Madhya Pradesh, the city has urban water logging in several areas. In order to address this, an effort was made to assess the city's current position and offer a nature based solution by creating Sponges in the most vulnerable areas within the city that helps to address the problem of urban flooding. The vision of the Sector is to make Ujjain a Water Sensitive City by 2035.
