Under the flagship program of ‘Har Ghar Jal’, household level functional tap connections are being provided. Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households. It’s motto, “No one is left out,” ensures that every household, regardless of socioeconomic position, has access to running water.
The purpose of the study is to identify and assess the inequities in access and use of safe drinking water with focus on tribal areas. It is crucial to assess the entire ecosystem of safe drinking water including sustainability of water sources and status of water quality and associated public health risk. Assessing the status, opportunities and challenges, preventive and corrective actions towards water safety at home, community and institution level will be formulated as an action plan to address the identified inequities.
