Investigating the implementation status of Ahmedabad CBD
The current Development Plan for Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority was prepared for the vision 2021. Under the said Development Plan, area identified as CBD was proposed to be developed through Local Area Plan (LAP) Mechanism. HCP Design, Planning and Management Pvt. Ltd. assisted AUDA for preparation of LAP for the Ahmedabad CBD along Ashram Road. Detail planning proposals were prepared for the envisioned high rise and high-density development. Further, the urban form was also designed, and form-based regulations were prepared for each plot within CBD.
The Development Plan is about to meet its planning horizon period; thus, it is a good time to review the implementation status of LAP proposals under the public and private domain. The research shall assess both quantitative and qualitative implementation status of the proposals and their impact.
