The Impact of Urban Infrastructure on Urban Wildernesses and related Stakeholders

The case of Metro 3 Depot at the Aarey forests

In this paper, I investigate the negotiations between the extremes of ecology and urbanism within a city and understands the balance between the two by comparing the conflicting needs of both. Infrastructural projects planned on green sites often meet with ecological protest. The only current means of mediating such disputes in India takes the form of laws relating to the cutting and replanting of trees on affected sites. The issues become more complex if the site is also socially important, targeting multiple stakeholders.
