The increasing need for seamless, efficient, and cost-effective transportation systems has led to the adoption of smart mobility strategies and integrated ticketing systems in many Indian cities. This study aims to analyze user perceptions towards smart ticketing, which is a key feature of integrated ticketing systems. The study also seeks to identify the factors influencing the uptake of smart tickets by commuters. The research methodology includes a literature review of smart ticketing and the adoption of new technologies, understanding the existing smart ticketing system in the context of India, and identifying the factors influencing the uptake of smart tickets. The study will also employ analytical tools to analyze user perceptions and conduct user surveys to gather data. The findings of the study will contribute to the promotion of smart ticketing and the development of more efficient and seamless transportation systems in Surat. The study will also provide insights for public transport agencies to improve the adoption rate of smart ticketing systems by addressing user concerns and preferences.
